Location was great, just out of the chaos of downtown & congress st, but an easy lime bike or uber away. There’s a peaceful ambience to the hotel, the coffee bar is excellent & adorable. I’d definitely stay here again. The bed wasn’t very comfortable. I got the queen room, I’d upgrade to the king next time for more space & light.

Loved our stay, as always. Pool was crowded and needed additional seating besides loungers.

    Breakfast fine. Burger awesome!

I was here mostly for the saltwater pool, which is more of a lounger than a swimmer, and it was excellent. The room was comfortable and stylish and I was impressed by the HVAC system. It was very humid weather during my stay but my room never got damp and the air was always pleasant inside. Not easy to do in central Texas summer in the rain! The restaurant and bar were well-decorated with live plants and artwork. People commented on my trip photos saying “ok Wes Anderson!” which I thought was fun and accurate. I will definitely be back to stay again.

Loved the location near the lake and river. Great bars and restaurant near by. Everything you could want and need in an area. Amazing bar and food. Really cool vibe, it feels like a hub for creatives. The rooms were a touch small. But very comfortable. There were dogs barking outside our window.

It was a cute hotel but the actual accommodations tower was more university dorm than hotel. Also there was no security pass to the elevators which were open to the street and quite far from reception. Lastly - the fridge in the room was completely full of beverages for $$ - and when I moved them to try and fit in my own snacks - I ended up getting charged for drinks I never consumed. I phoned to have the charges reversed - but to date I haven’t seen the credit.

We had a parking problem the first night, we had requested parking but there was none when our plane was late so we had to park on the street. Otherwise, all was fine!

All of the greenery. Coffee was great. Nice staff. Easy to have dog with us!

The hotel was built in 1928 and the remodel was done impeccably. It was so beautiful and they used such high end supplies. It was so nice to look around and see such works of art in the craftsmanship. They had three restaurants on the property. Their food was delicious! We tried them all. They also had numerous conversation areas that were lovely. They had a library and a gift shop. We also loved that our room had a living room with a real comfortable leather chair and velveteen sofa. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The only very small thing was they had instant coffee and no tea bags in the rooms.

Nice, relaxed hotel with a good restaurant and bar, plus friendly staff. We hung out a lot on the premises during a 3-day stay and really enjoyed our stay. Very quiet at night, got some great sleep. We appreciated the amenities. Bathroom sinks are weirdly small. That's such a minor thing, though.

The location was in walking distance of my event, which was perfect. I was greeted by a friendly man at the counter who was excited to let me know that my room was ready early! I loved everything about the hotel from the decor, to the architecture, to the restaurant. I will definitely stay here again.

Always love staying at the Carpenter hotel but unfortunately this visit I wasn’t feeling my best on this trip so I ended up staying in my room or at the pool - which and any other place would have been the downfall but between great room service and walk ability, it was quite the Haven.
