Hyatt Place Des Moines/Downtown

I get the name has to match but she didn’t have to be so short with us. When as my partner and I talked amongst ourselves she would interject to say “they’re going to charge you a whole new reservation, etc.” just adding extra stress. A Debbie downer told you so attitude vs. a more courteous and empathetic approach. Expedia ended up fixing the name but the process could’ve been more supported with the proper energy. She fixed it at the end by saying it was out of her hands which I get, but I see where the 3 stars comes from. After traveling 5 hours it’s not how you want to be greeted.

Huge, spacious rooms that were clean and comfortable. Walking distance to several restaurants. I wish we could have stayed longer!

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was also very spacious, and the dual head shower was really nice. The bed wasn't very comfy and the TV doesn't have streaming services. Also, no microwave in the room. I made the ' pet friendly' booking through Booking.com and I thought ever was paid for but they charged me an additional $75 for the pet. Not their fault just not disclosed thru Booking.com.

Staff was very nice. Didn't like how loud u could hear people in the hallway.

The continental breakfast was a great deal with the room.. stayed Friday through Sunday and main dish was different each day everything was fresh and hot.. Hotel was alittle dated, but very clean and property was very well maintained.I would definitely stay again ..

Breakfast was OK, but could’ve used a little more variety. Wish they could’ve served bacon and some more fresh fruit. Our room was nice and big, but had a stale smell to it. The staff were very nice and personable. There was only one elevator. In the lobby area on our floor there were four elevators, but only one worked-this was really difficult since our son uses a wheelchair.

Location was perfect but parking was expensive. Hyatt needs a desperate renovation and cleaning up at this location. All the woodwork in the rooms had fading varnish. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls, outdated decor, stairwells had hanging Sheetrock and large sheets of paint coming off the walls. Only one elevator worked, no one was clearing off breakfast tables and the coffee bar was never open. Very poor quality for what we paid to stay there.

Breakfast was good, staff was helpful. Room was pretty clean. Bed was creaky. Access to car park across the street was spotty, as card scanner to open gate did not function reliably. It was nice to stay downtown with good places to eat in walking distance.

The breakfast selection were amazing. Had a hearty meal all days . Parking was paid, there weren't a lot of option to fill water, the pool water was cold

It had a good breakfast, the room was large, and the parking was convenient. There were several problems: the TV didn't work all three days, two towels had massive holes in them, our room was not cleaned, and pool unusable.

Location. Staff was nice and kind The breakfast and the eggs in the breakfast need to be better. There was also no meat in the breakfast. My sheets on the bed had stains on it
