MainStay Suites Durango

Everything was excellent. The only thing that wasn't great was breakfast, but that's classic continental breakfast expected in most hotels like this one.

The elevator was out of service. Staff assisted guest to carrying luggage but if someone has issues with stairs it could be an issue

Room was updated and very clean. Pillows were very nice

The only problem was that the elevator didn't work. They had us on the 2d floor but since the elevator didn't work they moved us to the 1st floor, which was really nice.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff, and a nice area. Pretty much all you can ask for in a hotel.

Elevator not working

When in Durango, this is one of our “go to” places to stay. The rooms are always clean, our granddaughter always enjoys the pool/hot tub, and the breakfast is excellent. For this stay, however, I must mention one of the staff, a lovely young lady named Iris. Iris was very helpful in checking us in on Friday and when our plans changed and we decided to stay an extra night, Iris went beyond being helpful in making sure we had a room for Saturday night (even being apologetic that we had to change rooms - which we were happy to do in order to secure a room for the night). She was so friendly and helpful to us and was just such a pleasant person to talk with. She is definitely an asset to the team!

Overall the stay was good. The eating area wasn’t maintained very well. There was a tile missing and multiple separation issues. My wife fell due to the missing tile and bruised her ribs and arm. They did put a cone so it wouldn’t happen to anyone else. They were concerned and checked up to make sure she was ok.

The AC fan was so noisy we finally shut it off so we could sleep.

Nicely located hotel in Durango ...Nice Breakfast...some of the staff at check in could use a better attitude but on the whole a good choice for a Durango stay...

There was apparently some kind of grease/oil spill in the elevator shaft right before we arrived, and the elevator (and surrounding areas on each floor) stank like oil. The elevator was also unusually hot (as in scary hot, maybe we shouldn't get in it?). When we asked about the oil smell, we received the explanation about the spill, and were told it wasn't dangerous to use the elevator, but the staff didn't seem concerned about remedying the problem (as in, clean it up?). The room was fine, it had an unusual number of amenities (fridge, stove, even a dishwasher and dishes we could use), which was great. The breakfast was terrible, undercooked runny eggs and nearly-raw bacon. We probably won't stay there again.

Clean and comfortable room, good breakfast, great staff. Stayed 2 nights and would definitely stay again.

Room was clean and well supplied kitchenet. Very quiet, no street noise.

Nice, newer hotel with well appointed clean and quiet rooms and suites and a nice breakfast. We had a suite with a kitchenette that was convenient. Elevator and parking was great too It is a a few miles south of the actual Durango downtown. It is a bit confusing because it shares an entrance with a sister hotel.
