Wingate by Wyndham Galveston Beachfront at the Seawall

This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. The only positive thing about this place is that it's across the street from the beach. That's it. The washer and dryer did not work. My toilet did not work AT ALL—not clogged, not slow, completely unusable. I reported it to the front desk and was met with complete indifference. No room change, no discount, no real attempt to fix the problem, and no concern for the inconvenience. My brother's TV didn't work either, which was just another issue on an already ridiculous list of problems. While I was complaining about the toilet, another guest told me the hotel was trying to charge her for damage she didn't cause. That alone should tell you everything you need to know about how this place treats its guests. The absolute worst part? My brother's room had bedbugs. We didn't discover it until we were leaving, but by then the damage was done. He was covered in bites before we even got on our cruise. A hotel having bedbugs is unacceptable. A hotel having bedbugs while also ignoring guest complaints and refusing to address basic maintenance issues is inexcusable. This place is poorly maintained, poorly managed, and apparently has no interest in customer service. Paying guests should not have to deal with broken toilets, broken TVs, broken laundry facilities, and bedbugs during the same stay. Save yourself the headache, frustration, and potential bedbug infestation. Spend your money somewhere else

Check in was easy and the rooms were clean. The only issue we had was not having any towels. It took a bit before we got them but the staff was very nice. We booked this location for the convenience of the ocean right across the street. Perfect for us.

This is the worst hotel we stayed at. It is very dirty, there are cockroaches everywhere and there was blood on our rooms floor…besides all the other dirt. There are safety hazards for kids and adults such as improper electric plugs and broken electric devices. Items such as towels and shampoo were not refilled. Cigarettes and smoke everywhere. The staff does not care to provide any help or improvement, instead they just send you away. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Absolutely most disgusting place I’ve booked. Woke up to bedbug bites and roaches. Melt like mold would not recommend!!!

I didn’t like anything about this property. I wouldn’t stay here even if it was free.

The pool had grown water and beware they use dish tv which means you might have problems with tv services the tub was cracked warm water not hot water and a non working room phone parking cost 15 bucks a day too

The breakfast food has roaches in it the rooms had roaches and bedbugs there no towels nor blankets in the rooms. They didn’t want to refund me the rooms smell like mold it was HORRIBLE I have pictures of everything.

We went straight to the front desk and were moved to another room, which at least didn’t smell like smoke, but still had no towels. The floors were dirty enough that you could feel it on your feet. We were told towels would be brought within an hour, but we ended up having to track some down ourselves and still never received washcloths. The pool was also disappointing—slightly green-looking, though the kids still wanted to get in since it was vacation. One of the handrails was also broken. When we were leaving the property, a homeless man approached our vehicle and made it difficult for us to safely back out, which was unsettling, especially with my daughter in the car. Overall, the stay did not meet expectations in cleanliness, safety, or basic hospitality. We will not be returning.

I loved that it was near the water. The pool was disgusting. Mold in room . Tv did not work. We found bed bugs.

The price was ok except for paid parking which is not acceptable when its the hotel property Too many complains for other people at the hotel, dirty i mean dirty rooms, sheets were humid.

TV was broken, Phone and Lamp didn't work.. Hair Dryer started smoking. Check in staff was no Help, luckily they didn't charge me anything extra or accuse us of misconduct. A/C was not very cold, Check in staff, broken Tv, room was clean but felt run down. The add mad the room look way better online than it did in person.

To get the standard rate, you had to book online. The front desk tried to make me pay $50 more than the online rate. Beware, the charge $15 for parking. The soap dispenser was empty. There were no blankets in the room, only sheets. The breakfast was convenient but the waffle maker was broken.

I stayed at Wingate for easy access to the beach, I am an IHG member and I totally regret my decision to stay at this Wingate. The property need to maintain the grounds. The parking lot is awful. They charge 15 dollars to park with no security. People park and walk to the beach for free. The pool is not maintained, according the front desk there are over 400 people swimming in the pool ( so that means you have to add more products, stop being so cheap) The stairwells are a hazard, easy to slip and fall. The TV in my room did not function properly, had a split screen. The toilet overflowed - lucky for me there was a plunger in the bathroom, I'm assuming this is an ongoing issue. I was accused of excessive toilet paper use. Last but not least, the lobby cameras are faulty, I was accused of having 8 people and multiple children in my room. Also I was accused of going to lobby for a lost key after midnight! Wasn't me!!! They never answer the front desk phone and the phone in the room does not work. I will say one thing, when i arrived the staff was either being nice or ficious, he said I would enjoy my room, think ficious. I did not enjoy my room at all! Stay away from this place

There was no ice. Miss bath plug. Breakfast was bread or a waffle. Plus paying to park ehhh not worth it

Defiently check reviews. Cause pics on line look nothing like the actually place itself. Breakfast includes cereal, toast and waffles.
