Hotel Hermosa

The staff was amazing and extremely helpful. We weren’t pleased that there was a charge for parking! The hot tub was great and nice and warm.

The shared spaces (lobby, patio, coffee bar) was beautifully decorated. Our room had been partially updated but had an old air conditioning unit that had a “clean filter” message on it (fortunately we didn’t need to use it). There was a broken blind and the floor plan was not ideal. The bedroom was up a narrow spiral staircase on its own so it made it difficult to get luggage upstairs and challenging to navigate in the dark to get to the bathroom (downstairs). This is partially on us as we did the bid upgrade and did not realize that the bedroom was not on the same floor. Other than that, things were clean and pleasant and we would stay again and make a better selection on the floor plan.

Unfortunately the city /street view rooms are very loud with traffic and frequent bus stops in front of the building. Otherwise a pretty good place to stay.

The room was clean. The whole vibe of the hotel is boutique/fun. Lots of fun things to do in your free time. It is located very close to the beach and only 15 min from the Airport depending on time of day. Lots of parking with elevator from parking to room area. Nice little cafe for early morning coffee and snacks. Pool and hot tub were fun in the afternoons. Our go-to hotel in the Redondo/Hermosa area.

The hotel staff repeatedly told us that three adults sharing a king bed was acceptable. We strongly disagree. If a room is marketed and sold for three adults, it should provide sleeping arrangements for three adults. The hotel was fully booked. The only alternative offered was a different room for one night, but the next morning we would have been required to move back into the original one-bed room. That did not solve the problem; it only delayed it by one night. Ultimately, the third adult in our party kept the room because other family members were staying at the hotel. The two of us then had to find another hotel at the last minute. Because Los Angeles was packed for the World Cup, we ended up paying significantly more than planned for alternate accommodations. The most frustrating part was the lack of understanding or meaningful assistance from hotel staff. Expedia should not market a room as accommodating three adults when it contains only one bed and no additional sleeping arrangements. This situation caused major disruption, stress, and unexpected expense. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel.

I lost precious Items you have confirmed to have found and I sent you credit card details for you to ship them to me. I have'nt been able to get a reply from you since many weeks or any info. I will delete the review and put in a good one (hotel was great) as soon as you send the items and guide me through the procedure. Thank you

Exceeded my expectations!

Love this site but would have loved a coffee maker in the room instead of having to purchase more expensive brew from the lobby.

I thought the property itself was fine. The location to Pier Avenue and other local attractions/things to do was great. My only issue was that there wasn’t much else to the place - meaning that there wasn’t coffee or breakfast available on some days, and there wasn’t a bar or lounge at least to hang out in after a long day. Those little extras would have been nice.

What you is see is what you get. Exceeded expectations.

Location was good. Blanket had a hole in it. Room smelled a little musty.

The hotel itself was nice When you’re already paying for a room and most guests are arriving in a car, you should not take advantage and charge $30/night for parking. If you advertise “Breakfast in the morning and with a coffee bar” you need find a way to deliver. They had neither and made no effort to make it happen. Just excuses. The worst part was not having my room cleaned and bed made when I was gone from 8:00-9:30pm and returning to my messy unmade bed. Just an apology with no effort to fix anything. This left a bad taste in my mouth.

The room with city views are loud and the cleanliness is not good for the price.

I have no complaints but do have a suggestion which is to add a light fixture over the bathroom vanity.

Great views from the common area patio. Perfect spot to enjoy breakfast alfresco. Great location convenient to Hermosa Beach Pier and Pier Ave. a 15 min walk away. Very comfortable bed and lots of closet/dresser storage. Grocery store across the street and also doughnut shop. Covered garage parking for a fee. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel Hermosa is a fantastic hotel located right in the heart of the city, so super easy to get around. The hotel staff is really friendly and the beds are comfy! The backyard patio and outdoor space has a fabulous view and is a nice spot to sit in the sun!

Staff was very helpful. I have never had to pay for parking when staying at a hotel so That was a surprise I gave the receptionist a hard time about it which I later apologized to her. She was amazing never responded rudely back to me and excepted my apology with grace and class. Will be staying there again in future
