The photos online are from a past refurbishment. The actual rooms and main lobby look much more tired than the photos. There isn’t air conditioning in all rooms and the rooms get very warm. A comfortable stay but not awesome.

The breakfast was cold, which I get it ,I didn’t expect it to be good in the first place. What really bothered me was the whole room . There was a really bad odor like horrible ,it almost smelled like someone tried to clean up or cover the smell of feces with cleaning supplies.

Location The lack of central air or cooling system

Decent stay, location was practical

The shower couldn't open or close all the way, dish for soap tray was too big for the sink, the remote for the ac was not useful at all, and parking was $55 a night for the smallest spots ever. The driver had to crawl out a passenger door to get out. Breakfast was fruit and a store-bought pastry. Swimming pool is across the street on top of a different hotel, and our key cards didnt work for getting in, but the other hotel's staff were friendly and let us in. We were there for one night and it was fine but not great.

The room was great, clean, staff was helpful. It says that breakfast is included but it’s very small, think banana and croissant style. Get there at your check in time, if you don’t, all parking will be taken up and you will have to pay a lot for a parking garage and walk far. I’m not sure why all guests don’t have a parking space, but something to keep in mind.

Everything was a great experience

The floor we stayed on smelled like a litter box. The staff were very unpleasant. You can try calling the front desk all day and they will ignore your calls. I sat in the lobby and watched them ignore my call.

Special thanks and mention to Edward who went above and beyond to accommodate us. 😊 Breakfast was ok (I had better in other places) there’s room to improve. Parking might become a problem if you are coming late to check in, I wish you can reserve it at the time you reserve the hotel. All and all very satisfied.

Hotel Garrett was a great find when we came into the City for a Giants game. It is in close proximity to the stadium (we walked to the stadium from the hotel) and lots of restaurants along the way! The staff were awesome; the room was clean and the bed sooo comfortable! We will definitely be back to Hotel Garrett anytime we come back to SF!

The front clerk was courteous and professional. I disliked the old worn dirty facility and furniture. There was also a bad sewage smell in the hallways and the room. It was making me nauseous. No light is in the shower stall. The hotel location was also undesirable and unsafe. There were drug addicts all over the sidewalks and main street right around the corner from the hotel extending several blocks up the street. We only stayed the first night and checked out the next day, 5 June.

Horrible experience. No central air conditioning and had to use a fan for air. Very small room with a horrible smell. Rude staff. Overall garbage hotel.

I liked the price and convenience of location. Very central. The staff were very friendly as well. The rooms were small and a little dingy. Bathroom had a couple lights that didn’t work.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The hotel staff provided good service throughout my stay, and the location is convenient. However, there are a few areas where the hotel could improve. First, the room did not appear to have an air conditioning system. This may not be an issue when temperatures are 70°F, but it could become uncomfortable during the summer warmer months. A mini refrigerator in the room would also be an excellent addition for guests staying multiple days. I also noticed that the window shade in my room was torn, which is something housekeeping or maintenance should inspect and address before guest check-in. My biggest concern involved customer service. Due to a change in my plans, I requested to shorten my stay and asked if the hotel could waive the penalty charge. Expedia informed both the front office manager and me that it was within the hotel's discretion to do so. Unfortunately, my request was declined. I understand policies exist, I felt this was a missed opportunity to put the guest experience first and demonstrate greater flexibility in customer service. Hotel Garrett remains a good place to stay. A few improvements—particularly regarding room amenities, maintenance attention, and customer-focused flexibility—could make it an outstanding hotel experience. FYI, I have also stayed at Hotel Fiona next door, a sister property. I had a great stay>
