Trailborn Surf and Sound, Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy

Amazing experience. Looking at the building from the outside from the street you wouldn’t expect how nice the property truly is. The staff is amazing, amenities are plentiful and, the overall experience is worth your time and hard earned money. Will be booking another trip to this place in the near future !

The property was old and in need of updating. The room size and large. Oceanfront view was beautiful.

The grassy courtyard area was lovely! We enjoyed spending time chatting and enjoying the scenery. The rooms were lovely as well! My bed was very comfortable but there needs to a few thinner profile pillows for people who have neck issues. The bathroom was clean, but the sulfur smell from the well water was very severe in the morning. It would lessen when we ran the water for a little time. My big complaints is that we had to pay for 2 chairs and an umbrella, which I think is unacceptable when we are paying such high prices to stay at the hotel. Unfortunately, this nickel and diming lessened my love of the Trailborn.

Let me start out by saying this place is very nice, beautiful landscape, love the pool bar, and the views of ocean and intercoastal waterway is Amazing!!! We have been coming here since it was Blockade Runner and have always had a great experience. The only complaint I have is that the past three visits in the prime vacation time we get a text as soon as we get there stating the pool is closed for maintenance!! To me that is unexcusable for the prices they charge and that is one of the things they advertise, for us my family we are all adults so we went to the ocean but for families that have very small kids and several kids, what a disappointment that is when you are looking forward to enjoying that and it was still closed when we left each time, I don't know what the issue is but they need to spend the money to get it fixed instead of just doing a quick fix.

You can’t be the property grounds, tons of places to explore and comfortably hang out or lets the kids run around and play.

Staff is great. Place is fun. You guys make it home. We come every year, sometimes twice a year No free water, no accessible ice machine

The decor of the rooms and the lobby have a great beach outdoor vibe. They offer a lot of activities like kayaking, boat rides, and boogie boards/paddle boards at the resort. The Hotel is a short walk from great coffee shops and restaurants and there are a host of other great restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute drive. The room was very clean and the beach view was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to come back again!

Great beach location!

Beautiful lobby, nice room decor, comfortable bed and good food/service. Not a great value, I have been coming for years when it was still Blockade Runner. The facilities are looking tired under the new renovation. The hot tub was out of service and sauna/gym just looked dirty and run down. The gardens are not maintained like they used to be. Not what I was expecting at nearly $500/night.

Not worth the price. I stayed here plenty of times when it was Blockade Runner. Trailborn has doubled the price and I don’t really see the “upgrades” in the actual room. Shower is a regular tub combo and water pressure is non existent. Thought I’d give it a shot since you can’t beat walking out of your room straight to the beach. I’ve stayed in much nicer places for nowhere near the cost. At least give me a balcony. Nope. It’s clean and the beds are comfy. As soon as I pulled up, the concierge reversed into someone’s vehicle. Won’t be back and I really used to love this place.

Restaurant on site was great!! Convenient location!

Very disappointed. HVAC in room extremely noisy. Food mediocre at best. Waiters very nice but have no idea how to serve in a restaurant. Bathroom sink not very clean. Bundle of hair on the floor in the hallway across from room 335. Hot tub doesn’t work. And all this for 500.-/ night!!!!! Seriously???
