Reviews

Location of the Hi Chicago Hostel was great!
-
Perfect location
-
Out of their control, but the L train was literally outside our window. For the price we paid it was OK.
-
The outside of the hostel is full of homeless, making a dirty and unsafe environment
-
I didn’t like that you had to share bathrooms and there was no tv. No kitchen or microwaves. The beds were comfortable and it is located near everything we wanted to do.
-
My room also did not have a remote control until I mentioned it to them
-
Awesome place. Bring or buy a pair of ear plugs
-
Overall good stay!
-
The property was clean and secure. They do conduct different events everyday to engage travelers and increase connections
-
Quite convenient location and pretty well maintained.
-
Good. Just be prepared for snoring people.
-
Our room was very clean. The kitchen was a plus for making breakfast.
-
I love that the people here respect personal space and the staff are always helpful.

Overall nice stay

In order to keep your stuff safe overnight, make sure you BRING A LOCK! Otherwise, you have to buy their lock for $8 and it is NOT worth that price. It annoyed me that this was not communicated; they profited off of my ignorance. Other than that, you get what you pay for. It's not bad for a one-nighter.

My 18 year old stayed at the property during his first solo trip and this is his review: “The room was pretty neat, I had a locker and each bed had its own electric outlet. It was different having roommates but hardly anyone was there at the same time. When I checked in they told me how to get to my room but didn’t explain where anything else was and I was too nervous to ask, so I didn’t see the kitchen or get to play pool, which was fine because I just went out to explore a little bit. Anyone I did interact with staff wise was nice though. I’d stay again.”

I landed in at midnight and they had one bed left I was able to sleep which was great because I was very jet lagged. You can't beat the price for a last minute reservation in the loop.
-
I checked in early and was offered the option to wait for a bottom bunk. That was nice. There was always staff around, everything was clean, and the location is great in the Loop.
-
Excellent room.
-
Loved the amenities given and staff was so helpful with everything. Top bunk kinda sucked in the women’s dorm because it’s shaky but it is what it is lol.
