Beautiful place to stay close to shopping. We loved the Martini bar with the wonderful staff. My husband and I agreed that we will definitely stay there again. We were both very impressed.

All around great stay! Perfect location & amazing service. Recommended for anyone & everyone looking to stay in Chicago. Breakfast is not free, which we totally expected, so plan accordingly!

Great location (10/10) , the rooms were clean when we checked in and housekeeping came in daily. The room came with refrigerator, good amount of space for clothes. Good flexible checkout time between 11am- 12pm. The room size was good. There is a water bottle filling station opposite reception, which was great. Few nitpicks They could have given a firm pillow, rather than both soft pillows , tea packets weren’t available, had to call every time we needed it. Housekeeping did not replace it when they came to clean the room Overall I would recommend this place and will come back again!

The great benefits of staying at the Knickerbocker are 1) the incredible location near Michigan avenue by shopping, restaurants, museums, and the lake, and 2) the great price for the location. It's notably cheaper than other hotels in the area, and this is the high-end area of downtown Chicago. You also get to stay in this older, historic hotel that has some charm and old touches. That said, because it is cheaper, it is less modern and shows its age more than other hotels in the area. We had a junior suite, and it wasn't really much bigger than some larger guest rooms in other hotels. It's pretty minimally appointed and feels smaller than I'm used to for a junior suite. That said, it's clean and the bathroom looks rather nice and new. Unfortunately, we also had a room that just looked out on other buildings and a rooftop; and our phone in the room kept buzzing until we actually unplugged it from the wall. Minor issues for the cost of the room, but things to keep in mind in a cheaper hotel. Service at the front desk was fast and courteous, though valet was mixed. When we arrived (and it was not very busy), we sat out in the car for 10 minutes in the valet zone and no one came out. We finally had to go in and ask for valet (and no one offered to help take the bags from the car; though they did finally offer to take them to the room, which we declined at that point). But when we left, valet was fast and courteous, offering help with loading the car with bags.

Bed sheet had blood stains on it when we went to get in the bed and the wash clothes had makeup stains on them.. I wouldn’t say they are too clean in that regards, shower had old shampoo/conditioner chunks of the wall from previous guest. Hallways are VERY Dingy and dark. When I called the front desk about the bed sheets and asked to have them changed they did so no problem so that was nice. House keeping staff was very nice as well. There was one woman working the front desk twice during our stay, once at check in and again the next morning - she was VERY rude to everyone it was pretty crazy.. we were standing in line to check in hoping to god we didn’t get her. Everyone else was very friendly though! Breakfast was delicious, the restaurant staff were SO friendly! It was my fiancés 30th birthday I did ask if there was anything special they offer and they never did anything or responded in that regard. I work at a hotel myself personally and know it’s a very easy and nice thing to do to offer guests small favors for special occasions. Would’ve been a nice touch. But overall the location was well worth it - we will be back!!!

I was told there was Not a "stay fee" to be paid-but I was indeed charge this stay fee even though the clerk at front desk said I had a 0 balance. Make sure you ask about this upon check in.

Very nice hotel. Clean room. Bed was a little too hard for my liking but for some that may be enjoyable. Nice hotel overall.
