Great location, nice views

Location of the hotel is great, you are right in the center of everything and has a great view of the river. It is pretty noisy due to the traffic and fire station nearby, but nothing the staff can do about that. Other than that, nothing great to report. For about $500 per night, you’d expect WiFi and/or breakfast to be included. But no, they charged extra for EVERYTHING, some things I don’t even understand, such as a $30/day destination fee?? There was no one at the front desk when we left to explain that to me. WiFi they wanted another $15/day. Cup of coffee from the lobby? Charging extra. So that was incredibly disappointing. Prob wouldn’t stay there again for these reasons

Hotel was nice, in a nice area. The only issue I had was with the valet parking. When we arrived, there were several workers at the valet stand and none of them came to our car. I got out and walked up to the stand to see if this is where I am supposed to get valet service. They said yes and then came to my car, gave me a ticket and left. No help with luggage. When we left on Sunday, there was no one to be found at the Valet Stand. I scanned my ticket and received a text that my car would be ready in 15 minutes. When they brought the car they got out, took the key with them and went into the hotel for several minutes. When they finally came out, I ask for my key so that I could leave and they were not very friendly. Handed me my key and walked away.

The staff was excellent.

The staff was all very prompt and courteous, and to be honest very nice. The location makes it very easy to drive in and out of, much easier than most downtown chicago hotels where you have to double park and get honked at.... You pull into their circular drive and give your keys to the valet, and no stress. Hotel was clean and well apppointed. The location could not be better for taking in what makes Chicago great. One critical downfall was the patio bar/restaurant being closed. If this was communicated in advance it wasn't done so very well. Small critique, but important to me, the chairs in the room weren't comfortable and I want a comfy place to sit while my wife is getting ready for dinner.
