Only con is the valet-we’re dealing with a $200 parking ticket that was while they had our car. Valet staff said it happens “all the time,” and they’re supposed to be handling it. We’ll see.

Staff was friendly Location - hard to find parking

When I arrived to check in, the heat index outside was over 100°F (around 40°C). After getting to my room, I discovered that the air conditioning was not working. I was told to wait for maintenance, so We sat in a hot room and waiting at the lobby for over an hour waiting for someone to fix it. After more than an hour, they finally moved me to a different room. What was most disappointing was that there was no apology, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, and no effort to make up for the situation. There was no room upgrade, credit, or any gesture of goodwill. I understand that equipment can fail, but customer service during those situations matters. Unfortunately, I did not feel valued as a guest, and the lack of communication and empathy made the experience frustrating.

Room was so small. But atmosphere was great

Moxy was one of the sickest hotels I have stayed at ! Literally covered every single possible necessity!! As soon as you walk in the front door you are greeted by awesome staff, the ambiance is so cool very modern look, then you're given a coin for a free house drink !! Rooftop bar was also a very nice touch ! Whoever runs that establishment has it down pack !!! Loved everything about it

We like trying new places when we stay somewhere. This was a fun location and the view of the state house grounds great. Staff were incredibly responsive and kind. The lobby bar and rooftop bar were populated and fun. The room we were in was the size of a shoebox, but luckily we were only in it at bedtime. The room was fresh and clean and had what you needed. All things considered, it was a good experience.

I loved the location. The two bars were great and The rooftop bar with the dj was a great vibe. The pillows were uncomfortable and the t.v. didn't have any service.

The room was very nice definitely on the smaller side but still very nice and well maintained.

Nice modern vibe, lobby area unique and fun, rooftop bar is the main focal point with an amazing view. On-site food vendor is excellent. Now for the room, the smallest room I've ever stayed in, choose wisely which side of the bed to sleep.because bed is in a corner. The room and bath are put together nicely. I would stay here again.

The property was very nice, the rooftop bar was a nice vibe, you recieve two free drink tokens at checkin to use at the bar. The room was nice as well. My only issue was at checkin; when I entered the hotel I wasn’t greeted by any of the staff. I wasn’t aware that checkin was near the bar so I proceeded to a near by desk that I assumed was checkin since no one greeted me at the bar. The desk was unmanned so I stood by waiting for someone to return and that never happened. The lady who was at the bar area when I entered stared in my face the entire time and never said a word. Then finally I walked over to her and asked about checkin and she said she could check me in there. At this point I’ve been in the hotel for a full 20 minutes. She and two other staff were just having casual conversation. Then once she finally checked me in another staff member had to escort me to my room to let me in because they couldn’t print room keys for whatever reason and I was told someone would bring a key up to me momentarily.

Great Hotel right in the middle of everything, rooms are a touch on the small side but I managed nicely. Valet parking at $33 is a little on the high side but they took care of my car and kept me on my schedule. I just wish they had mentioned the $33 fee on the website. No coffee maker in the room but plenty of coffee dounstairs in the lobby. Overall an A+ hotel and I would stay there again. Staff was fantastic and welcoming.

The location is excellent and the bed was comfortable. Staff at rooftop bar was excellent, reception staff not so much. Parking is valet only. There was ample street parking so that worked out. If you are looking for refined, gracious hospitality, this is not the place. It is style over substance, and it is gimmicky IKEA-style styling at best, e.g. a long line of dowels along the room walls and other similar styling approaches. Bathroom sink did not drain well. I boycott Marriott and if I had known it was one of their brands I would not have booked.

Honestly, the hotel themes and layout are nice but the location is really noisy, external as well as internal noise. I stayed at The Moxy Hotel in Columbia this past weekend, and unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, the front desk staff could not locate my reservation because Booking.com had my first name entered as my last name. Instead of offering guidance or attempting to help resolve the issue, the staff was very nonchalant and simply told me, “I guess you’ll have to call the third party.” I provided my confirmation number multiple times and was still told they could not find the reservation. I then attempted to contact Booking.com myself but was unable to immediately reach an agent. Since I had traveled from out of town and was already at the hotel, I decided to ask about booking directly through them instead. Even after showing the employee my Booking.com confirmation and rate, they would not honor the price and instead tried charging me the hotel’s higher rate. Ironically, after I handed over my ID and card to proceed with booking directly, the employee suddenly stated they were able to locate my original reservation after all. This entire process took about 25–30 minutes with very little assistance or urgency from the front desk staff. To make matters worse, the room key system was apparently not working. No one informed me when the system came back online, so throughout the evening I had to repeatedly go downstairs and ask someone to escort me back into my room. It wasn’t until later that night, after returning from dinner, that a different employee working the evening shift informed me the key card system was working again and reprogrammed my card. The employees working the morning shift on May 23rd were not helpful, lacked communication, and showed very little concern for resolving guest issues. Overall, this was one of the most frustrating hotel check-in experiences I’ve had.
