Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island by IHG

Perfect if all you care about is price and have zero standards….. Arrived to the property at 2 pm. Check in is at 4. They literally make you wait until exactly 4. We know because we came back at 3:45 and they said we have to wait until 4. While we’re waiting we went to the bar area outside. The bartender looked like she hasn’t smiled in years and the drinks were awful. $14 a mixed drink and we ended up throwing them away. Once checked in we walk to our room and it smells inside the room Like it got wet and never cleaned and the AC wouldn’t go below 74. We left and went out for the night and decided to grab another drink at the bar thinking maybe it was just what we ordered…. No we also threw those $14 mixed drinks away. Fast forward to about 9 pm we’re watching TV in bed. The power shuts off in the entire place. No effort was made from staff to talk to guest or offer a refund or discount. We went to sleep in a hot, smelly zero power room. Never again.

Nope, we had to store it behind a desk in the lobby open to public. I mean, our risk but NEVER have I had a Motel/Hotel not at least try to help us a little here. Asked if a room was avail early could be check in.... "Sure" was the answer. "Give me your phone number". No attempt or effort was made at all to facilitate that request. Then, at 4:00 pm we show up in the Lobby to check in.... There's already a line 5 deep to check people in... Any luck we might get some priority since we've now been there 3 hours? NOPE, wait in line....... Bottom line, I won't be back and would not recommend it.

Very open and inviting. Lots of activities The rooms don’t have kitchen areas.

We love it. Room is clean and location is perfect Rudeness of one of the staff when we asked about coming in a day early and if they had a room.

I was charged an additional 30 dollars for who the hell knows. I wont go back

Amazing resort, very clean, lots of amenities, and a very friendly staff! I definitely look forward to staying here again in the near future!

Water pressure goes in and out the later you shower. The light was flickering anytime it was on. We didn’t use the light because it was so strong. Our room keys were shut off mid stay and we had to go fix it. Little things that were annoying and an inconvenience . Location to the beach is awesome! Rooms are spacious. Rooms are clean. Staff was nice.

The location can’t be beat - right on the ocean, right on the bike path, two restaurants on either side so you don’t have to drive anywhere if you don’t want to. We have stayed here several times, however on this trip we noticed how rundown the property is looking. Lots of stains, chips, and scuffs on the walls, lots of rust on steps and railings, shower looking old and dingy, dirty carpeting (the water in the floor of the shower would turn black when you stepped in if you had been barefoot in the bedroom). The whole place needs a refresh.

We loved the location of the room facing the ocean with a door leading out to patio and view. There is a bike path the runs around the island and bicycles where available to enjoy. We will definitely stay here again. Despite some issues, we still enjoyed our stay overall. The back door was extremely difficult to open and lock, and the security chain on the door was broken, which was disappointing. The bathroom floor could have been cleaner. The bikes could also use some TLC — the first bike had no brakes, and the baskets were rusty and falling apart; however, they did ride nicely once in use. The air conditioning was also not very effective. While there were definitely areas that need improvement, we still had an enjoyable stay.

Found 5 bugs in my room. There were hairs in the bathroom that were not mine. They have an outside bar but would not open the windows so you could sit there. I had to go off site for dinner and drinks with my dog and that was not the plan at all, Island is beautiful but this hotel is not, Would not stay here again. I expect more from holiday inn.

Very clean. Rooms are big and very nice. The pool was closed. No notice before booking but at least the beach was nice.

The hotel had a bit of an old-school vibe, and it showed in the rooms. There were musty smells, some outlets that didn’t work, a TV remote that was broken, and shower fixtures that could use some love. But on the bright side, the property itself looked really nice and had plenty of amenities. For the price, though, I was a bit let down by the room.

Great ocean view room but room above must have been rented to elephants who stayed up all night stomping around. Shower water pressure was awful and sink did not drain. Garbage was strewn all over in the AM but it was a holiday weekend. Also there is a surprise $30 a night resort fee that was charged separately when checking out that was no included in the Expedia charge. We've stayed here before and had a wonderful time but this room was not wonderful and did not get charged a daily resort fee on top of the other charges last time. We love Jekyll though!

The room was clean and comfortable and there are plenty of seating areas throughout the outside of the hotel including a fire pit. I will definitely go again. We enjoyed our stay the only complaint I have is our room was supposed to be a ocean view but it was mostly covered by palms which made it a partial ocean view at best definitely not a ocean view. The description of the room stated ocean view with terrace.

Towels at the pool-site would be helpful; instead we needed to take them from our room. Having chairs for the beach would be nice for those of us who have a rather difficult time getting up off the sand. Food at the "24" restaurant is quite good but the service is just so-so. Still, a very good hotel in a beautiful place!

Location, next to beach, at night it was beautiful Dated room, for the price I’d expect more.
