Great family vacation. So nice to be directly on the beach and have staff set up chairs and umbrellas! Yes, the rooms are older and could use a reno, but it’s clean and comfortable. Can’t wait to go back.

What a lovely resort hotel right on the beach in La Jolla. The pool was great for swimming! The restaurant food was delicious, the free coffee was convenient, and overall it was a fantastic vacation spot. We had a 2 bed standard room, which came with a small kitchen and large pull out couch.

Perfect ocean view! Staff was helpful and room was clean. It was nice to be right on the beach.

Been going to the LJBTC for decades..... It remains wonderful with helpful friendly staff, great parking, and a unique setting.

This property has a classic feel, it is a bit dated, but so well done that the dated aspect of it makes it feel nostalgic.

The room was perfect, the food the ambiance the staff. We have come every summer for 5 years and will continue to do so!
-
Perfect location with a private beach and a wonderful swimming pool! We loved having our own fire pit on the beach, which was set up by the super friendly staff, watching the sunset and making s’mores and having great take-out food and pizza conveniently from the hotel. We’ll be back!

The grounds are a bit tired but the staff and location are amazing

Excellent vacation spot, literally right on the ocean. The hotel provides and sets up everything you need for a day on their private beach - chairs, umbrellas, towels, tables etc. Food and drink service is available on the beach as well. Beach staff was very friendly and responsive, and didn't expect tips (for non-food services). Hotel is cashless - everything is charged to your room. Room has a kitchen with plates, utensils etc. Parking is included and plentiful. Common areas were recently updated. Unknown: We didn't make use of services like massage or tennis courts. Bad: Rooms are outdated. Our room, like others', smelled musky and unpleasant. Room quality is an $80/night motel. Two spiders in it too. The beach furniture, also old and worn, are stacked right ON the beach by the hotel. VERY ugly, and hiding the view of the ocean. They could be placed on the side. The umbrellas look cheap and ugly. The first floor rooms are almost uniformly without privacy, due to how the hotel is situated - you'll either be facing the parking lot (like we did) or the beach, with people constantly walking by. If you care about privacy and want to be able to have the blinds open, you'd need a second floor room or stay elsewhere. The restaurant waiters were, with one exception, inattentive and neglectful, and there were hardly any guests there. It felt like they (except one) were bothered by us being there. Club members seem prioritized over guests. Not sure we'd return.

It is in a nice beachfront location. That’s the only positive thing I have to say. The rooms reeked of mildew and were extremely outdated. I had to move rooms 3 separate times because my reservation was for 2 beds and they couldn’t fulfill that. Staff was rude. Numerous hidden fees they fail to disclose.

The private beach is lovely, the tennis courts are well maintained, the restaurants are good quality and the overall ambience is full on vacation vibes. The rooms are not fancy but are comfortable.
-
Amazing beachfront property, fantastic staff, easy parking. The grounds are lovely. Great little kitchens in the bungalows. Only note is that it is an older structure so would recommend nabbing a second floor room for maximum quiet.
-
Fabulous location. Short walk to cafes and restaurants if you don’t want to stay onsite. Plus only 20 minutes walk to the clifftop shopping and dining precinct. Well worth a visit
-
Beach was clean and beautiful. Parking was plentiful. Didn't really use any of the amenities due to time constraints. Only issue was the paper thin walls where you could hear every sound your neighbor made and every footstep.
-
I love the location, I love the tennis clinics and private lessons, Charlie the tennis pro was great

Loved the accommodations. Would definitely come back.
-
It is one of the most outdated hotel I have ever stayed . Considering the price , I would say the value is pretty low. The hotel management should really consider some renovation .
