I upgraded my room to a club room that "has the best city views and had clubroom lounge access". My room view was a brick wall. My keys did not have access to the club room the first day completely because the front desk did not have me as upgraded. Was not told about the $15 a day credit to use at the restaurant/ bar, until the last day. Those few things were just highly disappointed enough to choose another place to experience next trip.

Nice hotel.

In addition, it doesnt list specifically that there is no room service yet their phones have a tab for room service. It was clearly misleading

The public areas are reminiscent of an Italian Art Museum, but it is an older building and the rooms while renovated are not as comfortable as a modern hotel. The gushing shower was a plus, the noisy air conditioner a minus. The buffet breakfast was very good, better than most, but the meal from the cafe was disappointing even if it did come out less than 5 minutes after we ordered it.

Upon checking-in, I was told that the hotel charged a $39 destination fee that was not included in the "final" price quoted on Orbitz. I was informed $15 could be applied to charges at the bar or breakfast, and then also very graciously offered two small bottles of water without charge. The next surprise was when I went to the bar and ordered a basic drink which cost $25 price and also had a 20% service charge tacked-on. The hotel is historic and indeed very elegant, but I prefer destinations without hidden costs.

The property was clean and a great value. The lobby and bar area is beautiful. The rooms are large as well. If I had any complaints it would be a lack of good dining options.

Amazing staff!!! Great amenities and atmosphere

Disappointing

I appreciated the complimentary late check out & use of the pool through my Expedia status as we had gotten in late the night before.

Everything was clean

The hotel is a classic ancient style which was great! However the bathrooms needed renovation. I was not feeling comfortable taking showers in such an outdated bathroom.

The staff is very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and clean. Basic amenities. Always nice to have a fridge in the room. No microwave. And simple one-cup per brew mild coffee, not espresso pods. But there is a cafe steps away as well as a Starbucks on the corner. Convenient location for downtown venues. I don't recommend walking around the area at night, which most folks from LA will tell you. I would stay again.

Anyone traveling to or even living in Los Angeles should stay at least one time at this piece of history that is maintained pristinely.

The hotel was definitely a historic and unique building. The staff was absolutely incredible - everyone. Enjoyed breakfast and lunch from the Bar-Grill. I believe the room was really a reflection of the photos on its website. The reality is that the rooms appeared to be very old and dull, lacking and color or life (which is completely different than what’s displayed on the website). It’s could also use some upgrades to the outlets, window dressings and perhaps the furniture. Otherwise, a very clean, responsive hotel.

Central. Friendly bar staff. Rooms very dated and not very clean

Check in took FOREVER! with only 2 parties in front of me. I was charged $600.00 amenity fee which was never returned. Destination fees. No valet weekdays the parking garage you need to go up 6 floors until you can park because of valet and apartment parking. The parking garage is so narrow and low that a lot of cars wont fit! and they do not offer anywhere else to park. You have to pay 150.00 a night to park down 3 blocks, good luck walking to your car at night!

I stayed in 715, the room smelt like hot mold at the entrance near the bathroom across from the closet. I was only there for one night. I had room spray, so that helped. The location is great, but $70+ for parking 55+ if you park yourself.

The ambience was excellent! Very nostalgic for me who was there 60 years ago on November 8 as a Reagan girl when Ronald Reagan accepted the nomination of Governor. Cost of parking

Exceptional
