Super 8 by Wyndham Lynchburg VA

I'm not the type to write a negative review but this place has definitely deteriorated in the past 4 years since last staying here and over the past twenty years of staying here off and on. I even remember when this hotel was originally built and opened. I felt concerned with my safety with some of the people staying here.. or actually living here in what seems long term. This place was rundown. The bathroom ceiling was dripping down water from above and I'm sure with the bubbling of the plaster will need mold mitigation in the near future. There was no one to check us in at the front desk for probably about 10 minutes. I hope this place can remodel and turn itself around. Breakfast was also terrible and all carbs: cereal, stale muffins, bagels, waffle maker. That's it. Sad.

This hotel has gone down hill and quickly. I stayed there 3 years ago and it was well maintained and clean. Now it is run down. The carpet in my room had stains all over it. I don’t know what it was but it was terrible. The paint was peeling. The curtains had some weird stains all over it. The only chair in the room was a rolling office chair that had a ripped seat. There was a gap in the door to the hall so big you could see the people walking by. It was just all around terrible. The other reviews responses claim they are remodeling but they have apparently been remodeling for almost 3 years! The only 5 stars I will give this hotel is the staff. The young lady at the front desk was super nice and attentive. The staff are so helpful they deserve to be working in a better environment

SHAME on you Wyndham. This property needs a MAJOR OVERHAUL. Room is outdated and smells so musty that I went and bought air freshener and sanitizing wipes. Iron board was broken and only 1 set of towels were provided. Telephone did not work. Horrible conditions!

Don’t waste you time or money. Filthy, smells like cigarettes and there’s roaches

There is no forcing function for them to improve the hotel because of its proximity to the university so it remains a dump and they charge way more than what should be legally allowed. We think someone was living next door to our room. His room was trashed and we heard a cat. I don't think he was paying the Disney prices. We will not stay at this hotel again. I never thought I'd say in my lifetime that I could not afford to stay at a Super 8.

The hotel condition is nasty Old, smelly, broken light

Never ever stay here. This place has to be condemned for safety and drug traffic. Super 8 Wyndham corporate I dare you to stay one night. The manager has said in response to similar reviews that deep cleaning and improvements are being done. It’s not true. Best location to Liberty University and such a shame.

The location I registered online and paid for a queen, upon arrival I was told only a double was available since they were sold out. When entering the room, we noticed the carpet has major damage, the bedspread had cigarette holes in it, food was left over from the last guest. The bathroom only had one set of towels and the shower gel on the sink was already used. Only one of our lights worked and the tv turned off when you had the light on. The room smelled of mildew and the ac didn't work. When reported to staff, we were told to open the widow. The elevator is broken, along with the wifi. The whole hotel smells of cigarettes and maijuana, which is says is a non smoking hotel. Half the rooms are empty and being worked on, 24 hours a day. The rest are filled with people doing drugs in the stairway. The breakfast is plain bagels and stale muffins. Being that this hotel is affiliated with Wyndham, I expected more. This hotel is down at the bottom with the roach motels pay by the hour motels. I will never stay there again and will make sure people know that the website is very misleading.

The hotel room was literally falling apart and was dirty. Dark hallway.

Didn’t even get out of my vehicle. As soon as I arrived it was obvious that this is not a hotel. It is a homeless shelter. Expedia should be charged for even offering this crack house as an option for lodging. I’d rather sleep in my car

The staff was very friendly and helpful with our problems. The light by the door controlled the tv it had to stay on for the TV to stay on. We had problems with the keys to the door not working. The light by the window didn't work and I think there was a short in the other lamp.

Broken furniture(desk chair in room, very stained) tv remote would not work. Musty smell in room. Lamp in floor as walk in. Changed rooms. Several Burn marks in bed spread, fan not working in bathroom. No toilet paper holder, took toilet paper and put in holes in bathroom.
