Palmares Beach House Hotel - Adults Friendly

It is a beautiful property 7 min drive from downtown and 10 min walk to the beautiful Meia Praia. The views are incredible! Every room has a view. It is very peaceful. Breakfast is very good. The only thing that was not great was service at the Club House restaurant where the food was very good.

Beautiful setting, lovely hotel Food was very good (had breakfast and dinner) The morning front desk attendant/concierge was excellent and knowledgeable The evening front desk attendants/hotel clerks (there were usually two behind the front desk in the evenings we were there) were not at all knowledgeable or helpful. We asked them to make us a dinner reservation at the hotel restaurant and they didn’t communicate the request to the restaurant. When we asked questions about activities such as bike rentals they could not offer any helpful information.

Surprised and disappointed there is no gym.

Most of the staff was absolutely wonderful, kind and helpful. The cleaning staff and restaurant and bar staff were all wonderful. A few names we remember were Janine (restaurant), Joao, Daniel and Amanda (front desk) There was one front desk worker that was not as friendly and was not as helpful about providing buggy rides to the beach which is crucial element for a "beach resort". We do not remember his name but he was grey haired and bald headed. He denied buggy rides to the beach for multiple clients when there were literally two buggies available, saying they "were saving them for guest check-ins", and the rides were "dependent on availability". Again, rides to the beach were critical to enjoy the "beach resort" unless you could hike over 20 minutes down and up hills. The stay would have been all 5 star if it weren't for this issue.

Room spacious, clean, bed comfortable, nice view of ocean, pool was in great use in hot summer time. Staff very friendly. Nice shuttle ride to the beach by staff Road to the hotel was bumpy

We had ants in the room. Even after we reported it, and pest control came to spray, the room was left with a strong chemical smell — yet the ants were still there. The hotel is far from everything and requires a 20-minute drive just to find a place to eat. There is no gym at the hotel. In our opinion, it does not meet the standards of a five-star hotel.

Quite amazing hotel with fantastic scenery, staff and golf! Breakfast is the same every day, would have liked more options.

Wonderful peaceful and beautiful location - great food

I loved the first floor for convenience. View was amazing, pool was great. Breakfast was superb. Golf course is amazing. We golfed 3 courses but wish we had only done Palmares. Pillows were not comfy and neither were the pool chairs.

ability to control night lite for walking to bathroom at night. Switches at bed don't easily control needed lighted path. Also restaurant prices too expensive. Also walking path to beach needs revising. Wanted to walk down path but never could cross the train rails.

Had the feel of a luxury hotel but not a luxury price. They seem a little pretentious, and the food, other than breakfast, was disappointing, although we didn't try the Michelin-starred restaurant. Bed was too hard. The drive to get there is not well signed and difficult to drive, especially at night, but nothing is nearby, so you have to drive.
