Nice clean property.
-
My favorite spot in San Diego. Great staff, fantastic location.
-
Unhelpful staff. Complaints dismissed by managers. Rooms and hallways stink!
-
The property grounds were OK, the room was disgusting. Carpet was dirty and stained, small room, old dingy wallpaper, leaky tub with mold on ceiling and not enough outlets. We also encountered a cockroach in the room in the middle of the night. Overall the room was gross, I advised staff the next morning of the issues we encountered and the reason for our early check out, and they did everything they could to make. It right. While I appreciated their prompt response I would likely never stay again.

We like the property, but the beach in the bay is really not swimmable, it was great. We were walking distance to Mission Beach, which was beautiful. Very difficult to get a reservation or a table at the pizza restaurant. The hotel itself was very well-maintained and we will definitely stay again.

Staff is friendly and polite. The private beach area is wonderful!

This place has great potential with its location, but it needs some major updates. Some parts look very old. This is fine if you go into the experience expecting that, but I don’t feel the photos were an accurate representation.

Very nice location and onsite dining was amazing. Traveled alone and still had a really nice stay.

We’ve coming here for years and it has improved however the bay is becoming polluted. Lots aid boats and lots of people.

Staff were super friendly and helpful! The room had beach view! It was amazing! Definitely family-friendly place!

Sara, the manager was incredible. If it wasn’t for her helping us out we would have had a harder time enjoying the vacation. She worked hard to help meet our needs. Thank you, Sara!!

Perfect location, calm and quiet bay to relax on day and night plus an easy walk to Pacific Beach. Love the thoughtful details i.e. cabanas on private beach, beautiful and well maintained grounds, attentive staff and management. Everyone here works hard to maintain the resort feel. The TV covered the bedroom window in the particular room we had. Wish the restaurant had more vegan options other than hummus and salad, but luckily lots of other options in SD.

At check in the desk clerk was friendly and seemed to enjoy his job. He pointed out directions to the room and things to do on property. We had a nice room on the 3rd floor in the north tower overlooking the bay. The weather was nice and we enjoyed a bottle of wine on the patio one evening. Had dinner in the Dockside restaurant and the food was wonderful. Waitress was super friendly and checked on us often. We began with oysters, wine and cold brew. My wife had the ribeye, which she enjoyed and I had the spicy salmon. The portion was perfect and the flavor was so good. I highly recommend the salmon. We took our bikes and rode up and down the boardwalk and visited a few other places for snacks and drinks. I also recommend the Sandbar just north of the rollercoaster, for a great Big Ass bloody mary. All in all, a great 3 day getaway.

First of all, the staff were fantastic. However, we were deeply disappointed with the state of our room. It reeked of mold, the carpet was damp and the light near the bathroom flickered when on. The air conditioner was super loud and only operated at one speed. Wi-do was spotty at best. We had a first floor room near the pool and random people kept sitting on our patio furniture. There’s no way you could keep the curtain open, however, the lighting was so terrible that you needed the curtains open so you could see. A random person knocked on our door, then tried to break in at 11pm one night. The food at the breakfast spot was massively over priced and mediocre. We ended up leaving our stay early as it was not even remotely worth the nightly rate.

The view and convenience of having a private beach was nice The rooms were small, and seemed outdated for the price. Unfortunately our beachfront room wasn’t ready by the “guaranteed” 4PM hour and we had to wait an additional 30 min before receiving our room key. Normally I wouldn’t make a deal out of this but after making an 11 hr road trip with 3 kids (6,4,1) I at least expected to be able to check in by 4PM knowing that previous guests must check out by 11AM. To add on this, we woke up to ants our first morning everywhere on top of our large dresser and couldn’t find the location where they were coming through. We had ordered small box of donuts from our first night and ants seemed to find their way to them overnight. After requesting maintenance to come spray the room that morning, the staff was very responsive and attentive. They cleaned the room, aired it out after spraying, and even left cookies and strawberries in our fridge. We enjoyed them but kept them stored in the fridge for the next two days to avoid risk of any ants again. There were a few ants here and there again throughout the next 2 days but were manageable to get rid of and nothing like the first morning. The convenience of having a great view and private beach was a plus since we were hardly in the room except for sleeping at night. Overall it was a decent stay.
