The place is quaint. They have a happy hour that was wonderful and they had cute little rooms with fireplaces. And they had a nice little breakfast down there in the little rooms with the fireplaces the next morning.

This is not a typical modern hotel, but a somewhat old fashioned bed and breakfast. It is very conveniently located near Union Square, the Powell St Bart stop, the trolley, and plenty of sights and restaurants. We also walked to Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf and Ghiradelli square, which is a bit hilly. The hotel itself is charming, spacious, clean, and staffed by very friendly and helpful people. The bed is comfortable. The room is big and has a gas fire place. The breakfast included toast, eggs, oatmeal, fruit and my favorite thing, the cinnamon bun breakfast bread! We also enjoyed the very pleasant wine and cheese reception before dinner. For both, the staff was attentive and gracious and the offerings were generous. Alas, a very minor dissatisfaction, was the street noise on Bush St, which required closing the windows. But, given the opportunity, I would most definitely stay at the White Swan Inn again. Thank you all, for making our stay very enjoyable.

The White Swan Inn is a quaint hotel in a convenient area of San Francisco. We were able to walk or take public transportation to see all the highlights of the city. The inn was clean and offered a nice breakfast.

The rooms are a little too dated. The room was very stuffy so we had to open Windows and there was no screens. There are not enough Outlets in the room. Also I am 5 ft 2 and it was very difficult for me to climb up into the bed. I know a lot of it has to do with the charm but some updates would make it more comfortable.

Very clean. Staff is amazing. Breakfast is way too basic, can be a bit better. Overall an amazing stay for a good price

CLEAN AND SPACIOUS ROOM . HOOMEY PUBLIC SPACES. VERY GOOD BREAKFAST. THE ELEVATOR IS OLD BUT WORKS . HIGHLY RECOMMANDED

Musty room, but I loved the fire escape. Breakfast options were not great. Bed felt a little "itchy"

They offered breakfast. Easy check-in. Good location. The room was nice, but no A/C and everything feels dated and not intentional. Overall, the place just needs attention. It's nice enough and my stay was fine. But it felt dirty and like it was neglected in general. I see that it could be amazing, but right now it still needs to be updated, even with the retro theme.

A very nice boutique hotel. The room was large and comfortable, with a great fireplace and big windows. The wine and nibbles in the afternoon, as well as the all-day coffee and tea were a great bonus.

Breakfast could be slightly better

Great spot. Fawkty Towers meets hip boutique

An oasis in the middle of the city. Quaint and quirky in a nice way. Something different from the mainstream. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Old fashioned hospitality. We loved the lounge/ dining area and the after five drinks and nibbles. A lovely touch. Rooms were well appointed. Nothing. A lovely place to stay. Different but nice. Definitely a place we would stay again

The inn is conveniently located and well secured. I wished it was a bit quieter, but made sense with the urban location and older building. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast had variety. The room was spacious and reasonably maintained. Very well priced and overall a great stay!

Comfortable, classy fun room and inn. Fireplace is nice touch. Bed is awesome, best sleep ever. Leon is wonderful, works so hard, so friendly. Love the location, we walk to everything. Walked to all our favorite restaurants, shopping, our concert at The Masonic. No longer a "spread" at happy hour, just a staff person serving a tiny cheese plate and glass of wine. Bump up the breakfast as it used to be...quiche, sausage, bacon, nicer pastries. Covid is over, bring it all back. We skipped it all. Valet parking is crazy expensive now (used to be $30/nite, now $78/$88!). We parked ourselves in a very near garage.

Had a wonderful stay at the White Swan Inn, but I especially want to thank Cody for being incredibly kind and helpful on my checkout day. He let me comfortably stay in the lounge area for several hours while waiting for my flight, which made the end of my San Francisco trip so much easier and stress-free. Great hospitality, great attitude, and truly appreciated. Thank you, Cody!
