Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Ankeny - Des Moines

Sssooo... first our room smelled like sewage when we turned on the shower... we was given a new room and the tv remote didnt work. We called the front desk and she gave us a different remote...that didnt work... after abt 5 remotes we went to Walmart and bought a Fire stick. The hot tub also did not work... no bubbles and jets didnt work... no sign was posted. The elevator is shady and takes abt 5 minutes...no exaggeration... for the door to close... all in all.. we will not be back and you should consider one of the other hotels near by.

First I guess I should not have assumed that Country Inns and Suites would be like they used to be. We had spent the day with my grandson and family. I was looking forward to a relaxing soaking in a bathtub when we got to our room only to find out that only 2 rooms in the entire place had bathtubs and they were taken. I had no idea I had to request a bathtub! Then we got to our room. My partner and myself are in our late 70's. We find the mini refrigerator and microwave are in a cabinet on the floor!!! That is very inconvenient for persons our age. We cannot get down and up again very easily so we could barely use either one. Previously they had a small coffee bar that was available 24 hours. That is also gone. It has been some time since we have been able to travel. Needless to say we were looking forward to our stay at the Country Inn. Previously we have tried to stay at Country Inns and enjoyed our stays, however, after this experience, we will cross Country Inns off our list of potential stays. We were very disappointed

The location is good, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is excellent! A great place to stay with children! We will definitely stay there again soon! The bathtub drain was clogged. But everything else was fine!

Staff was too busy talking on the phone while working in the breakfast area. Very rude.

It was very clean and the breakfast is everything I expected. Egg sausage, fresh fruit It’s tucked behind another hotel could be hard to find if you didn’t know what you were looking for. I’ve stayed here before so I knew where it was.

* Good selection at breakfast. * Friendly staff * Nice that pool room was away from sleep spaces. * Roof of the pool room had water dripping into the pool (while raining outside). * Sleeping room needed many repairs (cracked and stained ceiling, stained carpet, broken tile in bathroom). * Didn't like jugs of juice and milk as community sharing at breakfast (too much germ sharing/contamination risk---my kids were sick 2 days later also). * Seemed like a high price to pay for a building needing many repairs.

Very clean place. Comfortable beds, nice location and nice little lake view from the room. Staff was very friendly The pool was kind of cold and the toilet was loose in our room

Charlene, the desk clerk was exceptional, professional, and went out of her way to help! The room was quiet, and peaceful after busy days.
