Barksdale House Inn

I booked my stay here because I was looking forward to experiencing the beauty of a historical hotel. Much was missing to complete the charm that the hotel could have had. Im not an interior decorator, but a few cans of paint and repairs/carpet cleaning wouldve made a huge impact. Pillows, authenic prints and attention to details would help. Sorry - but paying $350 a night didnt support what I got. :(

Great place to stay. Close to walk anywhere in historic district. Breakfast was such a surprise. Real breakfast! Eggs, toast, grits, fruit, etc. will definitely be back!

Great location and comfortable. Good breakfast. All the employees were wonderful. Not too much to not like. There may be an update or 2 they will do overtime but nothing that detracted from our stay.

Really charming, comfortable and better than photos - has a homely feel and is well located to all the sights. Very welcoming staff and delicious breakfast. The floors could have been swept - slightly dusty under bed, cupboards but overall a great place to stay.

Great location, of course the property is old but that’s the charm. Hotter on top level but always cooled down at night so you can sleep.

It is super close to everything. We walked to all the stuff we wanted to see.

location The mini split (A/C unit) in the room was located high on the wall. When the unit was running, the air was directed at the head of the bed. During the night was so cold, when unit running.

Warm friendly helpful quiet. Staff eager to please. Lots of extras like breakfast snacks, fruit, water etc

The location was very convenient, everything within walking distance and parking was conveniently behind the house. So quaint! And they offer a great breakfast freshly made and a variety of snacks complimentary …make sure to tip your fabulous staff!

The room was large and comfortable. The location was good enough to walk everywhere but I’d have preferred a bit closer to the river. Breakfast was in a pleasant bright veranda. It was nice to have the snacks and coffee in the lobby at all times. The room, on the ground floor of the carriage house faced the parking lot on one side and a big building on the other.

The location is outstanding. The breakfast is very good. They host happy hour free glass of wine and snacks daily. Rooms clean, beds comfy and the home beautifully restored. The employees are extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it- would come back. Nothing

Walking distance to everything $50 per night for a dog was a little high

The breakfast in the morning was fantastic, simple but well prepared options. Most importantly the front desk supervisor Aleeyah was very attentive and helped with any and all questions throughout the stay, and even afterwards, she was a primary factor in creating a homely and comfortable atmosphere. Big thanks!!

Stayed at Barksdale twice before. Great location and wonderful breakfasts. Never disappointed.
