The staff does the best they can, which is clear. However, the toilet and air conditioner in the room were obviously beyond repair as neither functioned properly even after being attended to. Given what is charged each night, whether or not it’s worth it is truly a question. To whomever is selecting this location, do not accept a room without first inspecting the toilet and A/C operation. To the Owners, you’re making enough to get new mechanical equipment so do so. I wouldn’t recommend staying there until you do because you cannot sleep and you cannot flush the toilet.

Good location in downtown Durango. Did not live up to the previous reviews. Beds very comfortable & clean property, but dark and deary.

Staff was very rude when it came to helping in the area where they served food. Happy hour drinks were mad by a rude lady that wouldn’t help with just a regular drinks. Breakfast food was out by 8am and they said they were not cooking anymore when family’s went in they had to leave because no food was there. Ac also do not work in rooms it’s like a fan blows semi hot air. And the microwave did not work.

Clean hotel and staff very friendly!

No actual breakfast like they claim. We came in for the continental breakfast and there was a single tea bag. Two people sitting in the lounge eating a raw bagel and one banana. Rooms and halls were disgusting, smelled so bad we had to buy air fresheners and air purifiers. - you get what you pay for.

We stayed in a 2 queen bedroom in June 2026. The room was very old fashioned looking with old furniture. The mattresses were like cement. The room had bugs crawling around in the bathroom area and in the tub. We spent a lot of time killing bugs. The microwave was hiding inside a cupboard on a shelf about one inch above the ground. Really hard to use it when it's basically sitting on the floor. The refrigerator was also on the same level, and it was permanently set at a higher than normal temp ( I suppose to save money) and could not be lowered. The fridge was too warm to be effective so we could not use it. The room also had a large raised divider on the floor between the bedroom flooring and the bathroom flooring. You had to carefully step over it to avoid tripping. One night in the dark I did trip over it going to use the bathroom facilities and was only kept from falling by crashing into the desk chair. I was left with a large horrible bruise on the top of my hand, but it could have been much worse. Speaking of worse, the "free" breakfast is horrible. The only redeeming thing they had were muffins from WalMart. If you eat there, do not try the "scrambled eggs". You will be sorry. Everyone loves a free meal though and people were literally getting upset and pushing others in their haste to get to the yogurt machine. Lastly, the pool water was extremely cloudy and nasty looking.

been coming out to Durango, CO for over 10 years. Walking distance to downtown was ideal. A few blocks over from the main drag. It is an older best western. Rooms were a little dark, and dated. Hotel pool in middle of property. Hotel is next to the Durango train station. They did have complimentary drinks in the evenings.

Breakfast was good each day. Bathrooms could be updated

The room was spacious. The refrigerator was an excellent size. There was a microwave, a coffee pot. It was clean. We even got Two free drinks at their little bar Café compliments of the hotel when we checked in and it was wonderful.. The breakfast was fantastic for a continental breakfast. It had so much to offer and it was absolutely delicious.

Great location and next to the Durango Silverton rail station. Also close to the town for restaurants and bars. Car parking was included so we left the car for the whole day without worry. The staff were friendly and helpful too. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Would recommend to anyone wishing to go in the railway.

Pleasant stay

This place was a perfect eighties Colorado time capsule with lots of character and updated rooms. The location is perfect and it's a great value for the money.

The staff was amazing. Breakfast staff was fantastic, specifically nice lady host. Great location to downtown. Hotel is dated but still awesome. The pool area is very loud with no enforcement of excessive noise and yelling. We'd stay again.

Very nice people and super friendly bar tender!!

The breakfast was very good and the complimentary happy hour is a nice touch!

We loved our stay here. Location was perfect for the train ride and proximity to restaurants. Kids loved coming back to the hotel and swimming every night. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Disappointed in the pool. Didn’t use because so many people were in it and it was very loud. Didn’t want to be anywhere other than our room or outside. We were there for a soccer tournament and this hotel was one of the host hotels. I suspect the noise wouldn’t have been such a big issue during the week or on a slower weekend. If you’re staying for relaxation and lower noise, get a room that has a door on the outside of the hotel and not one that is pool side.

Our room was large and clean.

Can’t beat the location and parking Have stayed here many times but the last couple times have been uncomfortable. The property needs updating. The beds are worn out and the walls are very thin. With two new hotels opening up right across the street, the value just isn’t there anymore.

Great location, plenty of parking, convenient to shopping and the Durango train( within walking distance)
