Red Roof Inn Chesapeake Conference Center

To start the hotel didn’t have anyone at the desk, check in was done through a kiosk style system. The room was dirty and smelled. The comforter had stains on it and the bed had hair in it when we removed the comforter. The carpet felt sticky when walking on it. We stayed on the property long enough to find a room somewhere else and checked out. They would not issue a refund because they said that we had been checked in for 45 minutes before we came back to the kiosk to ask for a refund. Stay away.

When we arrived to check in there was only a ‘zoom’ person to speak with. We had reserved two rooms. One of the rooms smelled so badly we ask to be moved. The replacement room had dead roaches on the floor and food crumbs on the nightstand. We then asked to be moved again. We were told there were no more room. We asked for housekeeping to throughly clean the room the next day. They only refreshed it(made beds and new towels). Bugs still there. Our second reserved room, though better,(no bugs or food leftovers) had filthy floors. Again the next day, only refreshed but not cleaned. You may ask why we stayed? Because all other hotels were sold out. The only plus was the shower water pressure!

It wasn’t the dirtiest but there was looks to be mold in the bathroom and possibly a bullet hole in the curtain. You walk in the lobby and smells so overpowering of weed, it gives you a headache. It wasn’t the cleanest place. It just looks dingy like the whole property needs renovated.

Kiosk check-in. Very inconvenient and confusing. Not English speakers.

Floor was dirty. Bathtub was dirty. Never got clean towels. Took dirty towels and washcloths but never replaced. Had to request and waited over an hour for them. Never got clean washcloths. Trash never taken out. Smelled like weed and smoke. Missing smoke alarm.

Dirty sticky floors and walls, hair in bed under the sheets and in bathtub upon arrival. Toilet leaked and often did not flush. TV turned on but most channels just showed an error. Had an interaction with the hotel attendant after calling the 800 number to voice a complaint. He stated that they tried knocking on the door the day before but we didn’t answer, however I had only reported the issues a few minutes prior to our interaction. Not a fan of being lied too. All in all I wasn’t expecting the comfort and quality of the Ritz but I was expecting a working toilet, clean floor, sheets and tub. This was my 3rd time in the last 10 years staying at a Red Roof Inn. 2 of the 3 times have been bad. Safe to say it will be another 10 years before I do it again. I also have photos, video, screenshots and audio recordings of all the issues as well as interaction with the one staff member.

Comfortable bedding. Clean room

Good water pressure in the shower even on the second floor (better than fancy hotels!). If you get the standard rate, it is no frills (no fridge, microwave, or hairdryer), but it’s clean and convenient for the right price.

Nice room very quiet area and great parking will be back soon

This is the second best Red Roof Inn in the tidewater area.

I like the quiet location the check was safe for the employee not necessarily for the customer check should be more private there was a line of people quietly hearing my private questions and information. Room smells so strong of cigarettes the walls was so thick with old smoke stains Just need a fresh deep cleaning and coat of paint and the top blanket seem worn

This particular room didn't have a refrigerator

The counters clean. I used clorox to wrap down because my immune system is low. It was very dirty.

First of all, this is a MOTEL. I could not tell that from the pictures. Second, there were no "live" staff present on the property - you checked in with a man on a screen who was located who-knows-where, and a kiosk spit out your room key. The room had visible dirt on the floor (like chunks of it, seriously) and the countertop had visible gunk on it (maybe old food smears?). I am not a clean freak by any means, but it was gross. The bathroom and tub did appear to be clean. The property itself is very run-down and there was trash all around. There were only two bath towels in the room for a room that could house four people; given the lack of on-site staff, I'm not sure how we would've gotten more towels if there had been four people in our reservation. I will NEVER stay at a Red Roof Inn again, and I do hope that their corporate office reconsiders having live staff on-site.

Nothing, extremely dirty. No staff, only virtual. Worst smelling room I have even smelled. People smoking pot in the parking lot and on the balconies, music thumping all night long. Towels dingy. Brown splatters on inside of shower curtain. Room odor was overwhelming. Nothing, dirty and did not feel safe. Parking lot full of men workers. Man smoking pot in car. SUV full of women half dressed and smoking pot. Women smoking pot on the walkways day and night, even 6am.

Comfy

The room counter wasn't clean. I always take clorox wipes to wipe the counter and bathroom. I showed the front desk worker when he came to get the TV to work. He didn't apologize at all.

It had a weird smell. I was itching and the tub and shower were dirty. The TV didn’t work at first. It was fixed 5 hours later

They cancelled without telling me i made this reservation 2 months ago they cancelled my room to hike the price n resell it leaving me stranded they said they sent an email w 1 hour to reply I was on a 2 hour plane ride I still got charged 100 for a room I never stayed in just to make money for a busy week when I did this month's ago way to go coorperate Clean room correct under bed also if they remove towels replace them or swap them
