The Leo House

Great value for money stay in Manhattan. Appreciate the location. Room was clean and basic and really kind housekeeping staff. Breakfast option of fresh fruit, bagels and cereal and yoghurt was good. My third stay and will continue to make bookings.

The hotel is over 100 years old and still looks like. Bathroom shower had chipping of the tub, end table was worn and old, bed was old and small, TV was not working and when I asked to have it fixed, they said they would send someone. 3 hours later, I asked again and was told they couldn't find anyone to fix it. No compensation or apologies. Staff is slow and unresponsive to customers needs.

The Leo hotel was for us in a great Central location location. Hotel was clean and tidy. Small garden space which was quiet and a sun trap. Would recommend to others. Ticked boxes somewhere to lay your head shower/bath. Clean and tidy.

Also buffet breakfast every morning apart from Sunday. Air conditioner in room worked quickly although old style. Facilities are older but work well.

We recently stayed at The Leo House during our visit to New York City and found it to be a comfortable, clean and excellent-value option in a city where accommodation can be extraordinarily expensive. The location was one of the biggest advantages. We found it very convenient for exploring Manhattan, with easy access to public transport, attractions and plenty of dining options nearby. Our room was clean and well maintained, and the property felt safe and welcoming throughout our stay. The included breakfast each morning was a lovely bonus and something that is becoming increasingly rare these days. It was a great way to start the day before heading out to explore the city. What stood out most, however, was the kindness of the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful and accommodating. We were especially grateful that they allowed us access to shower facilities before our long flight back to Australia, which made a huge difference after a full day of sightseeing and before many hours of travel. The Leo House may not offer all the luxuries of some of New York’s more expensive hotels, but it delivers something equally important: genuine hospitality, cleanliness, comfort and excellent value for money. Thank you to the staff for helping make our stay in New York such a pleasant one. The Leo House is more of a comfortable home away from home than a luxury hotel. Travellers seeking high-end facilities, modern luxury finishes or extensive hotel amenities may find it quite simple. However, that is also part of its charm. What it offers is clean, comfortable accommodation, a great location, good value for money and genuinely kind, welcoming staff. As long as you arrive with the right expectations, it delivers exactly what it promises.

I have stayed at the Leo House for many years and happily recommend it to others. The staff, the location, the cleanliness and the breakfast are superb.

It’s a wonderful place in a very pleasant location. Breakfast was great. The place feels very safe. The place is different from a regular hotel. Nothing is bad about this, but the policies are held over from the old days when it was a house for visiting clergy. I was perfectly happy with the restrictions such as no “guests,” but some may not like them.

Location is great, very close to Penn station which makes it very easy to go to JFK...

Breakfast was fine, saved us going out for it. The only issue was with trying to charge things, the appliances in the room were faulty

Room was reasonably clean but the decor was dated. Bed was too small for two people and one of us actually fell out of the bed during the night. Breakfast was good. The hotel is cheap, but I wouldn’t stay here again

The worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The man at the front desk laughed at us because of our French accent. It was really inappropriate and mean. The worst room I’ve ever seen brown water ran from the bathroom faucet for over 5 minutes. The bathtub was completely chipped, and the bed was a mess. We had to sleep in a single bed; the other bed was so wobbly that it was impossible to stay in it without falling to the floor. TERRIBLE. We had to leave our keys at the front desk when we went out, and it was very complicated to get them back when we returned. The only good things were the view of New York from the room and the breakfast. I don’t understand the positive reviews. We will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

Perfect for a night stay. Clean, quiet, great location.

Great location. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable beds. Great to have own toilet and sink Quite noisy which might bother some. I was on 7th floor so sound travels up. But I felt this was part of NYC experience, the city doesn’t sleep! It didn’t stop me sleeping
