It was very clean and the staff was kind and professional. That you have to pay extra money to watch movies. In places like APA hotels where I often stay it is all included. I also with they had better and more pillows.

It's a bit far from the train station with 10+ minutes walk. I suggest to take airport bus to stop at Sunshine Prince Hotel better than the train

If you’re looking for a hotel that’s central to most attractions in Ikebukuro, this is a good fit. Sunshine City, and Ikebukuro Station are in walking distance. The staff were accommodating and helped with a smooth transition to our first hotel in Japan. The room and bathroom are very small. As a 6ft stocky guy, I had a hard time relaxing in the room. I had to duck in order to use the bathroom/shower. Unfortunately, I won’t be booking again with Hotel Route-Inn. The price did not match what was expected.

The location was very nice, especially how close it was to Sunshine City and the subway station. They were also super kind in offering an incentive if we chose an "eco-clean" option, where the housecleaning staff did the more basic of duties. We didn't mind at all, (we actually prefer that), and got free tokens for the alcohol vending machine on the 2nd floor. They also had washing and drying machines on the second floor as well. My wife and I were very unsure of the key policy. There were no key cards for the rooms, and we were asked to return the keys to the desk whenever we left the premises. We understand that we were foreigners in a very different country than our own, nevertheless the cultural difference made us unsure at the tim.e

Size of the single room can vary, if you get the bigger single room, it’s better. Very old school hotel, still use key instead of electronic door card. U need to deposit your key with the counter staff when you leave the hotel.

Easy and friendly place. Located near heart of Ikebukuro. Nice space for its cost- it’s hard to find a good sized with the right price twin bedroom anywhere in Japan. These rooms were perfect for two so we rented three twin bedrooms for six people. The Hotel was small but mighty in every way. The pillow was little too small and bed little hard- I don’t mind little hard mattress but the pillow was a problem. But I solved it by asking for 2nd pillow and covering it with my padded vest. Maybe you don’t mind or maybe this is a deal breaker for some- but my family and I didn’t think mush of big deal.
